Allergen Skin Prick Test
Allergen Skin Prick Testing
At ERSA, we offer Allergen Skin Prick Testing to help identify triggers that could be contributing to your respiratory symptoms, such as sneezing, congestion, coughing, wheezing, or breathlessness.
Our test panel includes 22 common allergens, plus a positive and negative control, to ensure reliable results. The allergens we test for were carefully selected because they are known respiratory irritants — including pollens, pet dander, molds, dust mites, and some foods that can trigger respiratory symptoms in sensitive individuals.
The test is quick and painless, using tiny drops of allergen placed on your skin followed by a gentle prick. Results are available within 15-20 minutes, helping us pinpoint potential triggers and guide your treatment plan.
How to Prepare for Your Test
Stop taking antihistamines (both tablet and liquid forms) for at least 3 days before your appointment.
If you are currently taking prednisolone or other steroid medications, please let our staff know when booking so we can advise you appropriately.
If you experience year-round or seasonal respiratory symptoms, this test can provide valuable insights to help you breathe easier.
Note: only available for 15 years and older
